"Last Chance Texaco" tells the story of three women in desperate need; of how, despite themselves, they finally come to each other's aid. It is a story of crime and punishment, of sin and redemption. The play is set in a green land on the edge of a desert, and it is anchored, even as its modern-day characters are, in the Old Testament.
Originally staged to acclaim at NY's Ensemble Studio Theatre, this is a haunting, lyrical play set in a gas station run by a mother and daughter in a small Texas town. Late one night, a city woman has a flat. Her unusual life intersects with theirs as they fix her tire. This gripping piece of theatre is an excellent source of monologue and scene material.
